Xero Four Zero Four

When well recognised online accounting provider xero.com from Wellington NZ is losing $3.813million each reporting period it is no wonder they don't want to talk about finances but taking down pages like their chairmans presentation from the investor information area of their site is not the answer (see 404 error screen shot).

No wonder people are switching from xero.com to saasu.com their global competitor across the ditch in Sydney Australia.

And to make matters worse, this reporting period Xero lost 10% MORE than they did the last reporting period, looks like it is going from bad to worse.

Oh well they might not have the features but their user experience is pretty sweet, and they have the nicest 404 error (page not found) screen I have seen in a long while.

Get Satisfaction

The war between getsatisfaction and uservoice and free open source ideas ranking frameworks rages. But at least GetSatisfaction.com has a neat upgrade page.

Google Sites Javascript and HTML errors on iPhone

Considering the target audience for google sites is to enable time poor or technically constrained people to develop a mildly sophisticated data driven web site, they seem to be missing the mark a little on the apple iphone. Here are some examples from a simple site as shown in the iPhone simulator available with xCode v3.1 toolset.

Puffer Fish Personality

This is crashing with a little more personality. Very sweet and develops the brand in a quirky yet endearing manner.

Tr.im is currently overloaded

Tr.im the popular url shortening service widely used in twitter had a spectacular #fail and a pretty neat slip on a banana too. Nice one, fail with flair or is it flare.

Force.com Sites Reach GA - But Only Briefly

It was exciting to hear about the new force.com sites reaching general availability last night but not so exciting to click about 3 links to get to force.com code share and have it crash. Ahhh, might need to wait a bit longer?

Maybe not, after all it we think it was PLANNED maintenance, doesn't everyone schedule maintenance after a launch?

PeopleBrowsr Not Ready Yet

I know it is supposed to be alpha still but hey I started telling people I like peoplebrowsr but the darn thing crashed after I tried to bail out of connecting my linked in presence.

Shucks, will have to wait for the beta. How very 1990s...
